Front cover essentials include the title of your book, the subtitle, and your name. You may add other elements as you please—this is the bare minimum.
Some books choose to place a key endorsement on the front cover itself. This is typically a one-liner, something snappy. If you want to do this, make sure you hire a skillful graphic artist. Only a professional will be able to add more elements tastefully, without detracting from the cover’s overall appearance.
Additionally, some books have the foreword writer’s name on the front cover. If you landed a big name to write your foreword, you should consider doing this. The foreword writer’s name lends extra credibility to the book upon first look.
You can format your name however you prefer: first and last, first and last and middle initial, first and last and middle name. You can also choose to include professional credentials, like C.P.A. or J.D. or M.D. These designations add credibility and authority to you and to your book.
